The Great Ocean Road
Pics will come soon... we have no easy way to upload them just now, although we are in Adelaide. The best thing today was the free apple pie that was served at the bar at the hostel where we are staying. And not just today, tomorrow, the day after that, and every day after that apple pie WILL be served... so, in regards to that and the free brekkie, it looks like we might just come home a little bit later, a couple of weeks, and perhaps a few pounds heavier. But still not as fat, or big if you will, as the germans we travelled the great ocean road with...
The trip in itself was nice, although we did get tired of seeing one rock formation after the other, or one more bay where the dirt meets the water, or one more fat ass belonging to yet another loud german. Apparently, german can not be spoken in a mild, or even whispering tone... it is meant to be shouted, or spoken in a very loud direct manner... and lest we forget... dont mention the war...
We did see some cool things tho, and pics will come soon, but after having one near death experience after the other at Fraser, this didnt seem anywhere near as adventurous. We have eaten kangaroo meatballs, seen kangaroos, koalas and emus in the wild, met Percy the Possum, seen an injured penguin (it was cute), Sophie can cross yet another crater lake off her list, Mt.Gambier, it was, tada, blue... or green... and she has a "wonderful" T-shirt to prove it.. the nights were spent in really small towns, with main streets (that is, the only street), of approx 200 or so meters... in Apollo Bay it was so dark in town, that you got a magnificent view of the stars at night from the beach. At Port fairy (the second over night stop) there was... nothing... next... the last stop, Robe, we slept in a huge old house... with an open fire and the cleanest rooms yet... very nice..
Tomorrow we will chill, because Saturday will be a day of swimming with dolphins, and a 20 hour train ride to Alice springs..

Nice to hear that your vacation hasn't grown stale....less posts would be a sure harbinger. Try and get a pint of Abbott Ale while you're down there. I totally forgot to mention it before you left but here you go, two weeks to go, but better late than never. You will not be disappointed. On a completely different topic (it doesn't always have to be about you, even though it's your blog, about your vacation), my parents are selling my chldhood home.
