The metropolies of Alaska
This "town" was a bit south of Denali National Park. And it was named Igloo for obvious reasons. However, it is completely abandonded. The igloo was supposed to be a hostel or a hotel.
Things to do in Talkeetna when you are dead, that is, try and climb Mt McKinley, fail and die, and you might end up here. Your name, at least, ends up at a wall commemorating all those that died on the mountain. On our stay here, it reached 100 even.
Things to do in Talkeetna when you are alive... as you can see, not much. Still, cozy town.
Talkeetna, population 800 or so. 800!?! Where?! What are they, ninjas!? Sneaky little hobbitses that live underground?! Whats the deal here? Clearly we are missing something. We might just have to call 722-TACO to find out.
Paxson... yes, this is the "town" of Paxson. It IS this building, and nothing more. "Town" in Alaska pretty much means gas station. I mean, someone has to operate it right? So, then it becomes Nowhere, Alaska, population 1.
Sourdough, Alaska... home of sourdough?
RV Sign in Shi... i mean... Chitina. Not so crikey.
Saloon on McCarthy's main, and only, street. Cute place actually.
