The holy land
After a flight with a beautiful view, we landed at Lhasa airport and was welcomed by our Tibetan guide and our driver, who drives a Toyota landcruiser (this one a lot better than the australian one we still have nightmares about).
The adjustment to the altitude is going so so. Lhasa is located at 3700 meters and you can definately feel the difference. Headache, nausea, you are constantly pissing and thus also drinking all the time... they likened it to a hangover, but it feels so much more like a concussion. Also, the air is cool, but since we are so high up the sun is really really hot and the air is very dry. You feel that especially in your throat and eyes. And... we have still like 2000 vertical meters to go... yikes
The hotel is surprisingly nice. We have our own toilet and bathroom, which is nice since you have to take leaks constantly, and its generally nice. The location is great, as is the view.
Tomorrow we will check out the Potala Palace and some other stuff. We'll get back to you with some photos. So far, Tibet looks wonderful.
Now its time for Yak meat (for real this time... maybe)

Kram
